DIFC Wills

DIFC Wills can be drafted within three (3) working days unless you have opted for an “urgent service” request. Once the draft has been approved, the Will is uploaded, and an appointment is scheduled with DIFC Wills Service Centre (formerly, DIFC Wills and Probate Registry) for registration of the Will. Overall, the complete process requires 7-10 days on an average.

ADJD Wills

Drafting of ADJD Wills is usually completed within three (3) working days unless you have opted for an “urgent service” request. Once the draft has been approved, it is translated into Arabic by a certified legal translator. Once complete, an appointment is scheduled with the ADJD for notarization of the Will. The entire process of making an ADJD Will usually requires 7-10 days.

The online registration/ notarization process for Wills in the UAE varies with each jurisdiction. We have explained how the Will registration/ notarization process is completed at DIFC and ADJD below:

DIFC

An appointment for registration of your Will in Dubai must be scheduled with DIFC Courts Wills Service (DIFC CWS). Along with the testator, two (2) witnesses must be present over the video call. The witnesses may join the call either from the same location as the testator or from different locations. Wills can be uploaded directly to DIFC’s online portal. DIFC Wills can be signed and witnessed online through electronic signatures during the online meeting with one of the DIFC CWS officers.

ADJD

An appointment for the notarization of your Will must be scheduled with the ADJD. Prior to the video conference call, a signed copy of your Will must be uploaded on the ADJD portal. Upon joining the video conference call, the testator’s identity is confirmed, and the Will is read over to confirm the wishes of the testator. The notarization process is then complete, and the digital version of the notarized ADJD Will is then sent to the testator’s email.
